Recognizing the importance of cultivating a sustainable mindset from young age, Impack is supporting the Hydroponic program through the Creating Shared Value initiative, by providing hydroponic facilities for SMK Mitra Industri MM2100. Impack is offering support in the form of hydroponic facilities, including: 1) Polycarbonate roofing, 2) Alderon uPVC pipes, and 3) other supporting facilities. This support is provided through in-kind contributions and financial donations for the development of hydroponic facilities. Impack’s support is expected to drive the revitalization of Urban Farming at SMK Mitra Industri MM2100, which includes the implementation of Internet of Things (IoT) technology in the greenhouse, improvement of solar panels with energy storage batteries, and the automation of hydroponic processes. All of these efforts are an integral part of the school’s initiative to create a learning experience while having sustainability mindset.
The hydroponic area at SMK Mitra Industri MM2100 aims to provide both hydroponic and Urban Farming training to students. This initiative aims to foster independence among students in running hydroponic businesses. The agricultural products are not only for the school’s needs but are also sold to interested individuals.
Impack hopes that through this contribution, SMK Mitra Industri MM2100 can expand its Urban Farming program, motivating more students to take an interest in hydroponics and sustainability issues, and opening up new opportunities for knowledge and involvement in sustainable development.
