Jakarta, 02 July 2024 – PT Impack Pratama Industri Tbk (Impack) conducted its latest Creating Shared Value (CSV) project, through education in proper plastic waste management and cybersecurity at one of SOS Children’s Villages’ facilities in Cibubur, East Jakarta. This initiative was carried out in collaboration with PT Sasa Inti (Sasa), Gerakan Pasti, and Women & Children Resilience (WCR) Indonesia.

Plastic pollution has become an urgent global issue, as mismanaged plastic waste damages the environment and marine ecosystems, and posing risks to human health through microplastics. With over 40 years of experience in polymer processing to create innovative building materials, Impack plays a key role by repurposing post-consumer plastic waste into durable building products and educating the public on responsible plastic waste management.

In this program, Impack educated the children and staff at SOS Children’s Villages on various topics, including waste categorization, plastic waste management, and the role of individuals in maintaining the intrinsic value of plastic waste for reuse through recycling and upcycling processes.

To enhance the learning experience and increase interactivity, the children also received hands-on practice in sorting plastic waste. Impack hopes these responsible waste management practices will be adopted and continued by the children as they grow older.

Topics such as personal and private information and the importance of strong passwords for our social media accounts were addressed. At the end of the event, the children were treated with a nutritious lunch provided by Sasa.
