The award for best practice in sustainability was held in Taiwan on the 17th November 2021 and was given to 12 winners from France, Indonesia, Taiwan and Thailand.
The award was given for the sustainability program “Harvest the Power of the Sun: Harnessing the Power of Solar Technology for Sustainable Agriculture”. In this program, Impack Pratama has introduced and installed solar dryers to underserved areas in 29 provinces in Indonesia and has benefited more than 30,000 lives in Indonesia. Regionally, Impack Pratama in collaboration with Covestro, has installed more than 1,000 SDDs which have impacted more than 360,000 lives.
In line with the company motto of Doing Well by Doing Good, Impack Pratama always strives to implement business practices that have a sustainable impact, one of which is by serving the underserved community.
Solar Dryer Dome (SDD) and Solar Table Dryer (STD), have consistently provided underserved farmers with better quality, less waste and higher output of post-harvest produce, ensuring food security in rural and urban areas. This SDD’s innovation has changed farmers’ perspectives on drying methods and improve their families’ income, well-being, and education.
Next year, Impack Pratama will roll out the same program to the underserved fishermen and we intend to duplicate our success in another new sector.
